Our
first priority is to provide a safe, supportive, trusting
community in which all children will achieve high standards. In this
collaborative environment, students will develop the skills and tools,
both academic and interpersonal, to become responsible and productive
citizens and life-long learners. Respectful behavior will be expected
and modeled throughout the MacArthur Community.
It
is our firm belief that a superior foundation in literacy
and technology, along with quality decision making and ethical
behavior, will be necessary for our students to influence, lead and
contribute to society in this new century.

Under
the
Massachusetts Education Reform Act of 1993, all schools are required to
have School Councils to serve as an advisory board to the principal.
The council members consist of parents, teachers, community members and
the principal. Their main task is to develop the mission of the school,
review the budget, and formulate the School Improvement Plan. As a
member of the MacArthur Community, you may attend the Council meetings
or submit your ideas/ suggestions to the School Council members listed
